In 2008, Carrie Scott opened Carrie Scott & Partners, a business that is at once an art consultancy, gallery, and curatorial endeavour. Over the past 11 years, Carrie Scott & Partners has had the privilege of working closely with numerous artists, including Nick Knight, John Pawson, Walter & Zoniel, Marina Shacola, The Harold Feinstein Estate, and Federico Pestilli – to help them establish strong and sustained markets. Scott also worked side-by-side with visionary photographer Nick Knight for a decade – from 2009 to 2019 – as Director and Curator of his archive as well as Curator of the SHOWstudio Shop, a gallery that exhibited high-profile contemporary artists like Douglas Gordon, Raymond Pettibon, Keith Tyson, Terrence Ko, and Anj Smith, alongside the work of dynamic younger artists like Tim A. Shaw, Courtney Andrews, Charlotte Kingsnorth, and Walter & Zoniel.
In 2018, Scott curated the largest independent photography show for the Store x, 180 Strand, A Shade of Pale, exhibiting 470 photographs and most remarkably featuring 320 images from John Pawson’s series Spectrum Suspended in space.

Art and Emotion
Art is a powerful way to show and feel emotions. This theme invites artists and viewers alike to explore how art can express feelings like happiness, sadness, love, or anger. Artists often use simple tools like colours and shapes to share their emotions. Bright colors might make you feel joyful, while dark colors might feel more serious or sad.
What makes this theme exciting is that everyone might see something different in the same artwork. One person might feel peaceful looking at a blue painting, while another might feel a sense of longing. This is because art speaks to everyone in their own way, allowing for many interpretations.
We encourage you to think about how a piece of art makes you feel and why. Explore your own reactions and let your emotions guide your understanding. “Art and Emotion” is a theme that opens doors to personal exploration and connection, letting each person find their own meaning in art.
This call invites women and womxn artists worldwide to freely express their creativity without limitations. Artists of all mediums, including painting, sculpture, mixed media, and more, are encouraged to participate. The aim is to foster a diverse collection of artworks that authentically showcase each artist’s creative voice.
Please adhere to the following guidelines when submitting your work:
- Ensure that your Headshot/artworks are submitted with high-resolution images.
- Include a front shot of the artwork image in your submission.
- If your work involves an installation or sculpture, please include a photo of the piece in its installed state.
- Submit your artist bio and statement in less than 150 words.
- Submit an artwork statement in less than 50 words.
The top 3 winners will receive the following prizes:
- Inclusion in the Women in Arts Network, sponsored by the Arts to Hearts Project, valued at $196.
